Millenium Bridge

The  Famous  Millenium FootBridge is situated on the Thames in London, between Southpark Bridge and Blackfiars Railway Bridge. It links the City with the Bankside.

In 1998, a Charity Walk was organized to open the Bridge, but the Millenium was wobbly and very uncomfortable. So the construction was closed until 2002, the necessary time to cancel the wobble. Then, this bridge was called the "Wobbly Bridge". It was so special, because when people walk on this bridge, they could feel lateral vibrations and oscillations.

In fact, the Millenium Bridge was the subject of a competiton, which was called "the blade of light" in 1996. ☼

This construction for walking people has eight supension cables, and was built with materials like aluminium. On the television, this famous place was present for exemple in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", or "Ugly Betty". 

As for me, I find this bridge so special... Usually, bridges are old and the cables must be very impressive. I would like to walk across it when I will go to London with my class! ♫♪
